Literacy Classes for Women

Assita Coulibaly, the wife of Dr.
Coulibaly, conducts classes to teach women to read. Learning to read
will help these women to make more independent decisions regarding their
lives and some may come to Christ as they experience His love.
English Classes for Adults
Dr. Coulibaly teaches English
classes for interested adults. The people of Burkina Faso are
multi-lingual. There are 66 languages in Burkina Faso and most of the
people know several of these languages. The language of education in
Burkina Faso is French, but as people become more educated they wish to
learn English too, since this is the business language of the world. Dr.
Coulibaly, who is fluent in many languages, teaches English as a service
to people who wish to add English to the language skills. This too is
used an outreach ministry to develop relationships and show the love of
Christ.
Financial Help for Poor Families
in the Churches
Although West African Christian
Ministries is an under-funded ministry, destitute church families often
come for help. They usually need food or medicine. Famine is a common
problem as it was just this last year. Some Americans have given to
relief of hunger among those touched by this ministry.
Planting Trees, AIDs Education,
Etc.
This ministry recognizes that
Christians have great responsibilities toward their communities. Young
people have planted trees to stop the encroachment of the desert. Health
officials have been invited to teach the youth about AIDS prevention.
These are just some of the things that are being done to express the
love of Christ.
Please pray alongside of us that the
Lord would continue to direct West African Christian Ministries.
