Prayers for July 2011 From Moussa & Assita Coulibaly, e-mail: moussa.coulibaly@wacm.info
July, 2011
Dear brothers and sisters, Because of the mutiny of the soldiers in Burkina Faso, all activities, including the schools were shut down for several weeks. As a result school will not be over until July 15. We praise the Lord that we have peace again. All of the students will have one last exam July 4–6. This last exam will decide who will pass to the next grade and who will not pass. Dr. Moussa is praising God for His protection during the unrest in Burkina Faso during March, April, and May. “People died and some were wounded. Only the Lord can bring true peace and reconciliation. We want to be faithful to the Gospel message.” Everyone is getting ready for the end of the school year and the beginning of the new one. There is much to do: Repair desks, repaint some of the classrooms, add more toilets at the Kwa school, build sheds/shelters at all the schools, and build at least one new classroom at the Kwa school. Please pray that God will supply the money for all these projects. Prayer is also needed for the upcoming events: Children’s camp July 18-22: Please pray for leadership seminars. These will be in English, but translated into the Jula language July 25-29, and into French August 1-5. Please pray for these seminars and for Wilf and Arlene Meeks who will be teaching them. Pray for Flambeaux-Lumieres (Bible club) August 8-15: Participants who attend the summer activities bring their bed mats and sleep on the floor: Almost all Burkinabe children sleep on mats at home. During camp, the adults also sleep on mats. The mats remind us that Jesus probably slept on a similar mat. And the meals are thin stews: Special Prayer Requests: Peace in Burkina Faso God’s presence in the hearts of all attending and leading the summer activities Health and spiritual strength for Dr. Moussa Money for building a secondary school More child sponsors God bless you and thank you for your prayers! children and are providing the sponsored children with fruit, enriched
powdered milk, food for their families, and colorful African school
uniforms.
