The Elementary Schools
Only 30% of the people of Burkina
Faso can read because the government is too poor to provide schools and
teachers for all the children. That is why providing education for the
children is an important part of our ministry. Burkina Faso follows the
educational pattern of France and begins the education of the children
with six years of what is called primary school. From the very beginning
the children who speak only their African languages at home must learn
to read and write in French, as all education in Burkina Faso is in
French.
Our ministry has four primary
schools at this time with over 1,448 students who are receiving a very
high level of education.
We now have an educational
sponsorship program.
